Big boy bike

Postby ozzy72 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 6:27 am

I was doing a spot of tidying at home when I came across this, a photo of my first big boy bike after passing my test... the Honda VF500 F2. Probably the most comfortable bike I've owned, just a pity the engine block was made of metal that had the strength of warm chocolate!

The same year (1986) as my lovely, new, 1986 Honda XBR 500G, both with the "comstar" wheels....>>>>

I hate to admit it Paul, but I've been looking at Royal Enfields. I'm thinking the new bike should be a cafe racer kind of thing :-D I'm beginning to accept that I don't bounce as well as I used to...

You may not have heard Paul, they're re-opening the Leicester factory and making them in the UK once more. The new models out of India already have things like fuel injection (why? I love carbs!!!)
I fancy just doing something different, and I have to accept that whilst doing 150mph is fun, it is dangerous with all those Corsa/Micra pilots being blind as a bat in a blindfold! So yeah, time to pose methinks ;-)

Just for something totally different from my usual bikes, I am in desperate need of a nice, laid-back, relaxing Vee-Twin Cruiser for the up-coming Summer days!

Harley's are far too expensive for all their models, so I am restricted to a 2000-2004 Japanese rice-burner, XVS Dragstar!
The XVS 650 would be ideal, but for practicality (light weight, 140kg) the pretty little XVS 250 is ideal!
Low seat, feet firmly planted on the ground, lots of luggage capacity, and the gorgeous 60 degree Vee-twin off-beat rumble!
I just need someone to make me take the plunge, and join the Vee-Twin Club, with the rest of the crowd!

This little beauty!...>>>

Some really nice motors on here. I've just had a 72' black and silver Enfield Bullet restored that I bought from a second-hand used site recently. It was in pretty good shape when I bought it but it needed a bit of cosmetic work. Now it looks mint with its early smiths clocks still fully functional. A rare bike at a good price so I'm very happy. 350cc is about right for me, couldn't handle anymore than that, couldn't trust myself. I'll try and post some pictures from my camera once i've worked out how to. Not as simple as just adding an attachment by the looks of it.

Took a trip from Hereford to Manchester by Van last Sunday (Dec 20th) to collect my new Dream Machine from its previous reluctant owner!

The Seller's Photo:...>>>

She is now nestled in between my Honda CB500RR and my Yamaha RX-S 100...
...and Daisy likes her new location!.... .....!

As soon as it stops bloody raining in England, I'll take her outside and take some more photo's of her, and her companions.

All Taxed and Insured (and MOT'd) so she is all ready for the highways and byways of rural Herefordshire, and elsewhere!

...it just need to stop bloody raining now!..... ...!

Paul.....just cruisin'..... ...!
