Despite being a one time private pilot and with very many hours on various flight-sims, I am utterly hopeless with helicopters.
My question is, is it possible to fly heli's in flight sim with the professional looking accuracy of the fixed wing 'stable' of aeroplanes?

I do not know how realistic helicopters in fs compared to the real world as I have only flown fixed wing and gliders, but helicopters in the fs world are a challenge to fly especially if you add the HTR mod and turn up the realism settings. Payware helicopters vary in systems modelled and one of my favourites is Cerasims Bell 222 and the start procedure seems realistic and the freeware EC135X. Jan you can loop a helicopter but its not pretty Kermit weeks in the redbull Bo105 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRPatCQ5HkI and the lynx has been doing it for years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi9tXFFgi8A

Jankees, yes, you can loop some helicopters, generally those with rigid or semi-rigid rotor systems. There have been a few notable ones but the most widely known to do this is the MBB Bo-105: http://www.flixxy.com/bo105-helicopter-aerobatics.htm

BTW, I saw in the March 2017 issue of Flying Magazine that the R-44 now comes with an autopilot. Wow, what will they think of next? :o
