On this day in 1966 England stuff W.Germany at Wembly Stadium in the World Cup (Jules Rimet trophy as it was then, don't know if it still is).
The last time the England football team were worthy of anything. Been pretty pants since then ::)

We'll we've always got rugby (sometimes, as long as there are no Australians around, or Kiwis), and cricket (occasionally, as long as there are no Australians around), and er, bowls (...as long as there are no Australians around). Ah :(
