Having problems with Anti-virus & REX 4.

Postby Eagle eye » Sun Feb 01, 2015 2:07 pm

When I try to download REX 4 updates I continually get a Trojan virus warning which is apparently a false positive. I run Norton 360. Has anyone had experience with ESET Internet Security as this is what I hope to change to instead of Norton. I need a strong Security system for my requirements but not one plagued with false positives. Please feel free to comment on your ESET NOD32 Internet Security experience, cheers.

Eset nod 32 antivirus is the best.Tiny footprint and does not
impact on Flightsim. The reason I trashed norton,is it kills frame
rates and looks at everything as an enemy.I would get it and get
rid of Norton.I believe Orbx uses it.That should say something.

Regards Anthin.

Thanks for your reply 'Anthindelahunt' I appreciate your frank comments. I was thinking of the ESET 'NOD32 Internet Security' package though. I guess it may be just as good, cheers. :D

Hey therre Eagle eye, I run with Norton 360 and have had the same problems at times. When I know that it is a file that I can trust I will just right click on the Norton icon on my tool bar and disable Norton while I do the install. This has always worked for me.
Hope that this helped you out.

Keep smiling
Tug :)

Thanks 'Tug002' I had not realised that you could do that so simply with NORTON 360. However nor did I think that while on the Net I would need to make such an arbitrary decision when it came to judging a files integrity. That decision should be made for you by competent anti virus software I would think! I will change my software and at least then I will have the illusion of security anyway. <<s
