deactivating for reactivation on another computer?

Postby Y » Tue Oct 17, 2006 7:54 am

My system isn't fast enough to run fsx acceptably for me, so I was thinking of keeping it on the shelf until I get another system. Is there a way of deactivating fsx on my present system so I can reactivate it again on my new computer in the future?

Thank you

I have it activated on 2 computers. There was no problem with the activation and no phone calls to make. It acted like it was the first activation.

thanks richardd43,

But don't you think that's strange, I would of thought that the idea and purpose of having to register it with the computer each game is run on is to stop the same copy being put on another computer, just like windows and other programs?

I fully agree and was very surprised when it registered.

I have since taken FSX off one of the computers.

Just needed to see which one it ran better on.

I had it loaded in XP-32 And Vista 32 and noticed no difference at all so I deleted the Vista version.

According to microsoft it supposed to run better on Vista.

I was disappointed when on the box it said it would run on a 1ghz computer, as mine is 3.2 I just assumed the game would run smoothly at quite a good setting. In fact even if I choose the minimum settings the game stutters and I have a 1gb ram and 128 graphics card. I don't call it very realistic at all if all you can see is little jutters all the time.

I wish microsoft would write programs for the present computers and not for ones two years ahead. Surely this time they can see their mistake in what they have done.

That won't be for a while yet. An FSX patch will be released at the same time. http://www.fsinsider.com/About/Frequently-Asked-Questions/Technical-Questions/Vista-and-DirectX.htm

No. Just Microsoft

Microsoft does recognise the extent of the problems we have, maybe they will be forced to do something sooner, and to help the users of windows xp.
