Transfering aircraft files

Postby TUCANTO » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:35 am

Hallo All,
I have added an extra drive (E) to take my Add-On Aircraft (FSX Steam edition, Windows 10 )
I know I have to add text to my CFG and a new file to the new drive,
I have tried various text in the CFG simobjects section eg;
SimObjectsPaths.7=E:\simobjects\airplanes and various other combinations
But so far no luck, any advice would be appreciated.

The default SimObjectPaths entries go up to 5 like this:

[Main]
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter
SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc

Your extra line needs to have the next number in sequence. It should point to the exact location & name of your new aircraft folder & read something like this:

SimObjectPaths.6=E:\Addon Aircraft

where the name of the folder on your E: drive is Addon Aircraft

Thanks for your help, after further advice, I added text as follows and was successful; FSX CFG, SimObjectPaths.6=E:\0_ SimObjects\FSX_Airplanes
and in my new E drive a new folder 0_SimObjects, sub folder FSX_Airplanes.
