Hello from hot muggy St.Louis Mo. Quick question about scenery.cfg. My scenery.cfg under general reads Title=FS9 world Scenery Description=FS9 scenery data. Is this normal since I am using FSX Gold/ Acceleration. Why FS9 and not FSX. Dave KALN

Just to confirm that mine is the same. I don't know why that should be.

Something worth mentioning. FSX installs files named Scenery.cfg in several different locations.
The active file is in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX.

Because I have Windows 10 my Scenery.cfg file is in C:\USERS\MYNAME\APPDATA\ROAMING\MICROSOFT\FSX
Where this file is located depends on what version of windows you are using.
However it should be noted that most of these files are hidden and you have to select show hidden files in your folder options to see them.
And what ever you do be careful these files are hidden for a reason. Do not change any file without backing it up first.

No Gary. The Scenery.cfg file in that location is a backup. There is another one in the FSX root directory.
I'm also on Windows 10. As I said earlier, the active Scenery.cfg file is in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX. Please check it out.

Dave in KALN. Just checked my Program files folder. Microsoft/FSX Scenery.cfg still reads Title=fs9 world scenery. The same as the scenery.cfg in appdata roaming/Microsoft/fsx. No plans on changing, was just looking through the different files and folders to see whats there.

Yes Dave. They all read the same. I have no idea why but it doesn't affect anything or need changing.

However, please note that the active Scenery.cfg file is in the location I mentioned earlier. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX

Thanks, just checking. Just thought it was funny that that it shows FS9 instead of FSX.

Okay Now I fell a little stupid you are absolutely correct the one I pointed out is a back up sorry about that
Something you can try is to rename the scenery.cfg to scenery.bak
and crank up FSX it will make a new one and look at that one to see what it says. Afterwards just delete the new one and rename the other one back to scenery.cfg
