C-47 stats?

Postby Merlin0859 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:36 pm

I downloaded the very nice Douglas C-47 update of the DC-3 here on this site. I use Air Hauler by Just Flight, I need the range and gallons per hour fuel usage to properly import this aircraft for use. Air Hauler gets all the info but this. I assumed it would be the same as the DC-3 but the max range seems much different. Can anyone tell me these numbers or guide me to the proper ones. I tried google and got several different entries, so while helpful I need more assistance. I anyone plays Air Hauler and has this plane or just knows the correct entries it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! If this is not the proper forum this is my first post and I apologize!

Hope this helps.

It helps very much. The only issue is it seems very different from the DC-3 and I didn't know if the military used bigger or add-on tanks. In reality it doesn't matter except I would like Air Hauler to figure the ranges proper. I like the C-47 version better because of the added GPS. I fear my navigational skills are abyssmal at best. Let's just say I make Amelia look good!

If memory serves, commercial DC-3's had three tanks, the C-47 had four. The Airlines removed one of the tanks on converted C-47/ DC-3 airplanes. Manfred Jahn's C-47 uses four tanks, while the Default FSX/ FS9 DC-3 uses three.

Typically at 20.5# MP/2050 RPM (cruise), and the Mixture at Auto Lean you should be getting around 80GPH, based on flying the MJ C-47 in the most recent DC-3 Airlines World Rally.

The 80gph is exactly the number I sought. I'll give it a tryout. I'd like to thank both of you for your help and answers! Happy flying!! <<r
