Here's the info that I have from these crashes:

I currently use FSGlobal Weather program, and I am pretty sure it is saving my weather correctly. I was able to do other flights the past few days without a recurrence of the issue I was having Sunday night. I currently use Windows 7 on my desktop computer (where my flight simulator x is installed), but am thinking of upgrading to Windows 10 soon, because support for Windows 7 ends next year on January 14. As for the current version of Flight Simulator X that I use, I currently use the Standard edition, but am also thinking of upgrading to Steam at some point down the road.garymbuska wrote:Evan Popchock wrote:I was trying to finish a flight from Los Angeles to Kona, Hawaii today, and while I was trying to pick up where I left off yesterday afternoon, my flight simulator kept crashing me to the desktop, displaying the message A fatal error occurred. What do you use for weather ?
The problem is the weather is not saving I have never run across this problem before but I have used one version or another of Active SKy for the last five or six years at least
what version of FSX are you using ?
I finally ditched the Gold version of FSX and switched over to FSX Steam and have had no problems since doing so.
If you are using the default weather program you need to make sure that it is saving the weather.dll correctly
Though I have no idea as to how you can tell if it saved it right.

If you own Windows 7 and have the key for it you can still get Windows 10 free but you must have the key for Window 7.
check out the link below

One other point is to make sure your system is capable of supporting a 64 bit Operating System and when you do update you will either have to buy FSXGOLD Edition or FSXSTEAM as the regular version of FSX will not install on windows 10
And do not install in the default location you can put it anywhere on your C drive you want except in PROGRAMFILES(86) Of course it works best if you have another drive like I do.
I have FSXSTEAM on my D drive and FS2009 on MY B drive. But not everyone has the ability to add a second or third drive.
Return to Flight Simulator X (FSX) and Steam
