Crash Message Appearing In FS2004 Traffic Toolbox Query

Postby eddywinch82 » Sun Aug 14, 2016 4:22 pm

Hi there,

I am having a problem with Traffic Toolbox in FS2004, when I click on certain AI aircraft, I get the message Crash appearing even though the plane in question hasn't,
I mean I can briefly view the plane in flight, but then the message Crash appears on the screen and the picture exits to my own plane. I know the plane hasn't collided with another, as I can click on the plane again, in the explorer section of Traffic Toolbox, and view it again, but then again the "Crash" message appears. This has happened with two planes so far. Does anyone know what is causing the problem ? And how I can solve it ? Any help and information, would be much appreciated. Best Regards Eddie Winch

I clicked on the Aircraft again in Traffic Toolbox, and it worked this time, this seems to happen, sometimes an aircraft in question can be viewed okay, but sometimes
only for a few moments before the "Crash" message appears ! Does anyone know why that is the case ?

I do not have a clue as to why you are having this issue but one way around this is to turn off crash detection. That should stop the message from appearing. I have never used traffic tool box
so I do not know how it is supposed to work.
I do not use such tools as these as I just do not see where or why I need them. I do not use a whole lot of AI as it will slow down your computer, and I only download AI from a well known source.

Thankyou garymbuska and Roypcox for your replies, it's very much appreciated by me. I will do what you suggested garymbuska, and turn off crash detection in FS2004.
And let you know if it makes a difference in Traffic Toolbox. Best Regards Eddie Winch

You will laugh at this guys, I tried something on FS2004 tonight. I selected the Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter at the start of FS2004, then I went into Traffic Toolbox and selected an AI Aircraft from the Explorer section. I didn't press anything, I selected "New View" from the FS2004 Main Menu then "Spot Plane" so I could view both the Jet Ranger and AI Aircraft. then in the Spot plane Window the Jet Ranger took off without my input and then crashed ! So it turns out it was my Planes/Helicopter crashing, causing the "Crash" message to appear, and it was not the AI Aircraft colliding with another AI Aircraft. I know that as I found that in Traffic Toolbox, if I selected the Land Plane Option at the Airport I was at when on the ground there, the Helicopter remained stationary, i.e. with the Engine/Blades still turning over. The AI Aircraft when viewed again carried on with its journey fine , so this must apply for the other Aircraft LOL !
