Full Screen-scroll problem

Postby Awaken » Wed Jan 18, 2017 2:20 pm

I just did a clean install of my Windows7 and clean install of FS2004 (and FSX) when a problem with my scroll wheel appeared. Problem is this: mouse scroll wheel does not work while FS is in fullscreen mode, it only works when I am in windowed view. I am hoping this is just a setting somewhere that I can change or else I'll be stuck in windowed view mode. This happens in both FSX and FS2004, everything else on my system seems to be running fine. I'm at a loss here, I have reinstalled Windows and FS multiple times now and it keeps happening.

Thanks....Ken :D

Hi

https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/1277/fs2004-flight1-view-module/

this may resolve your problem for FS9 (F1 Veiw)
and this one for fsx :) (wheelcam)

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar with F1 View and that is not the issue. My scroll wheel does not work at all in FSX and only in windowed mode in FS2004. Thanks for the try though. I know it seems like a minor issue but some of my addons like Carenado C182 G1000 really rely on use of scroll wheel.

After the clean install are you sure that the correct drivers were installed for your mouse. Not all Mice are plug and play.
After the install your system should have treated both your mouse and keyboard as new equipment and installed the correct drivers for them.
Does your scroll wheel work while viewing this forum if not your mouse is either missing a driver or the cat has killed it  8-)

Yes my setup is the same including the mouse, it's a Logitech M310 and is working correctly in all applications, it even scrolls in FSX and FS2004 menus, just not in 2D and VC cockpits. I did not install drivers as Windows seems to handle the device correctly, at least my previous install did. I will give a Logitech driver install a try though and let you know. My prime suspect in all this is Microsoft Visual C++ though, I had to install Visual C 2010 to get my Carenado XPlane10 aircraft to work properly, this is the major change that seems to have broken everything. I will be reinstalling again and skip Visual C 2010 and see if that helps too.
Thanks for the help, I'll get back with you after I try drivers.

LOL... I don't have any cats Gary :D :D :D ...
Update: I was already considering upgrading to Win 8.1, so I decided to go ahead and do it. Everything is updated and installed and working properly  . I suspect there is a buggy Win 7 update or software out there that did this. Plus, I really like Win 8.1 so far. Now back to flying <<s
