David Maltby's Classic airliners

Postby simonmd » Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:49 pm

I'm sure he's been thanked before but here's some more praise. The birth (and death) of the British aircraft industry is here, Comet, Super VC10-KC10, Trident, BAC 1-11. These aircraft have incredible detail, all include airstairs when parked (with full animation on the 1-11) and the panels are the best you will see for a long time. These really ARE photorealistic, almost every switch and dial is true to the original, not just default items stuck together. Combine with good custom sound files and smoke FX from engines and you can't beat it! Only disapointment is that he says he won't make any more, just update these. Shame. Download direct from his site below,

http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/default.htm

This also contains alot of interesting history and info to read whilst downloading!

DM's "updating" is the equivalent of anyone else's creating a new model!

I already have DM's VC 1-11.  It is wonderful.  More systems are completely implemented than the 2D version which means it is nearly completely functional.  The 1-11 is my fav, not only because it's such a great handflyer but also because being an American, I can do retro flying right here on my side of the pond with it.  Even though it was only a 2 vor and an adf nav aircraft typically, it lends itself well for INS nav to make it more complex to operate.  It is not that farfetched that any operator could have ordered a 1-11 delco carousel equipped or even litton equipped.  Yes, I like flying the 200, in the Mohawk or Allegheny colors.  It's like 1966 all over again.  LOL, and I was only 3 that year.   8)

I've got DM's Trident. The VC in that is just stunning. Way up there with any payware aircraft. I should get round to downloading the BAC 1-11, and redownloading the Comet and Vickers VC10.

In fact, I've got a picture of the Comet's cockpit at Bruntingthorpe... wonder if it would be appreciated!
